Climate & Moisture Conditions

Moisture conditions, humidity levels and temperature greatly affect the behaviour of natural wood floors. They must be strictly controlled during storage, transportation, and installation to prevent destructive process.


Prior to installation, ensure that all internal site conditions are stable, dry and suitable for particular hardwood floor. Room temperature of between 18° - 22°C (65° - 73°F) and Relative Humidity of between 45 - 65% must be maintained at all times.


Remember that wood flooring requires a time to reach moisture content level in equilibrium with the surrounding environment. Hardwood floor boards must be left in the room unpacked to acclimatize to the moisture content and temperature of the new home before the installation for at least 48 hours.
